The University and the Bathampton routes leave the City Centre Circle by North Parade and turn north along Pulteney Road. At the roundabout by St. Mary's church, they separate; the University route climbs Bathwick Hill.
The University is approached via The Avenue, with a spur through the University grounds. The main line continues along The Avenue to an exit into Claverton Down Road. From there it runs along Claverton Down, serving the premises of Wessex Water, the Bath Clinic and Ralph Allen School; eventually joining the Combe Down route at Foxhill.
There are a number of different ways of working these routes -
in particular, the spur to the University can be used for short working from either direction if required.
